After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Salih Orus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luisito Quintan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Salih Orus having to make a save. Salih Orus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 12th minute of the match. Gelu Nicolau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. Justinian Law hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. A hard and well directed shot from Daniel Zorita led 37 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Central's Salih Orus became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 1-1. With an all-out effort, Central's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luisito Quintan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 43rd minute Central were awarded a corner. Eugenio Vermudo went to the cornerflag to take it. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovani Lo Celso, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After having played for 57 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Giovani Lo Celso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Giovani Lo Celso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Central were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
