With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Cenap İğdemir tried to sneak it across the goal line. JFSP's Moisés Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of play. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Moisés Novaes. Moisés Novaes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Moisés Novaes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute. The audience was convinced that Rubinho Zanette's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. In the 59th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cenap İğdemir went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. 87 minutes in the game, Cristian Sancho fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Moisés Novaes having to interfere. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than JFSP throughout the match.
