Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emiliano Lesardo. Emiliano Lesardo kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Estudiantes de Merida FC's Bambang Sagala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 8th minute of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bambang Sagala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Cristian Sancho sped through Estudiantes de Merida FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bambang Sagala. In the 21st minute, Moncho Arzube hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bambang Sagala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bambang Sagala came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 36th minute, Bladimir Morales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Honorio Lario sent off a good shot on target. When Estudiantes de Merida FC's Emiliano Lesardo in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Estudiantes de Merida FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moncho Arzube didn't get a good kick on the ball. Estudiantes de Merida FC's Claudinei Canido was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 45th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.

After some fancy dribbling in the 50th minute, Emiliano Lesardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estudiantes de Merida FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emiliano Lesardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 52nd minute, Moncho Arzube hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Bambang Sagala. When Felix Montes fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Felix Montes a yellow card for diving instead. After 58 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. 60 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de Merida FC's goalkeeper Bambang Sagala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. The supporters of Estudiantes de Merida FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Lesardo in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute Estudiantes de Merida FC were awarded a corner. Lando Morais went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Lando Morais got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de Merida FC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bambang Sagala came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emiliano Lesardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bambang Sagala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bambang Sagala firmly grabbed it by the left post. Estudiantes de Merida FC's Marcelino Quinten was substituted for Emiliano Lesardo. In the 89thth minute of the game Marcelino Quinten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. Lando Morais recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 94 played minutes Estudiantes de Merida FC got a freekick which was hit by Bladimir Morales. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ecuador eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
