Atlanta's goalkeeper Tony Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iker Dolfos's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iker Dolfos helped the player get up and apologised. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aquiles Manex during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tony Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. After 19 minutes C. A. Atlanta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but C. A. Atlanta's Tony Guimarães did a great save. Tony Guimarães had great luck who in the 19thth minute grab hold of the ball when Luis Andino from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tony Guimarães. Cristian Sancho scored 2-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Guimarães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Guimarães having to interfere. Federico Gil kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.
