Eduardo Viana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhuang Fan Zhen in the 15th minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Zhuang Fan Zhen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. A hard shot 18 in the game by Claudio Caniggia from a close distance when the talented Jonathan Ferrant managed to make a qualified save. Venezuela's players were relieved. In the 22nd minute, Zhuang Fan Zhen fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonathan Ferrant, passed just outside the right post. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhuang Fan Zhen in the 28th minute of the match. Claudio Caniggia's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jonathan Ferrant firmly grabbed it by the left post. SANFINS VLP's David Prada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 33rd minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudio Caniggia. David Prada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Prada read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhuang Fan Zhen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute there was a penalty for SANFINS VLP. Basílio Silveira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. 4-1. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Caniggia, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 65th minute Zhuang Fan Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. SANFINS VLP's David Prada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 73rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Viana in the 84th minute of play. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After 87 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Caniggia in the 89th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Caniggia came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basílio Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SANFINS VLP.
