After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luis Swain quite easily take care of the ball. Davis Doty charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Davis Doty the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Club Dep. Union Madereros's Davis Doty got a free kick in the 17th minute. After 18 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luis Swain was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Luis Swain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luis Swain was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Luis Swain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of the match. Luis Swain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The wind increased when Jaime Laurgain made the kick off in the second half. Davis Doty was shown his second yellow card after 54 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 55th minute, Davis Doty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luis Swain read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Luis Swain in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 69 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Dep. Union Madereros's Ismael Ourente was substituted for Cornelio Colas. Luis Swain made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 71st minute. 74 minutes into the match, Luis Andino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luis Swain, 0-3. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Swain having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luis Swain narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rene Vito's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rene Vito helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Club Dep. Union Madereros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rene Vito didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 83 played minutes Club Dep. Union Madereros got a freekick which was hit by Leo Argina. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Laurgain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luis Swain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 95 played minutes Cristian Sancho rounded Club Dep. Union Madereros's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
