The DENVER™ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mustafa Cumhur Gök should have stopped the shot. Daniël Orange could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Seb Hedges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Seb Hedges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Seb Hedges made a kick off. In the 54th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mustafa Cumhur Gök saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mustafa Cumhur Gök made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 58th minute. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Seb Hedges was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Mustafa Cumhur Gök showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Mustafa Cumhur Gök made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 83rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Facundo Cadaval's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mustafa Cumhur Gök was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Fang Sha Chen kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
