The GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sancar Aktemur should have stopped the shot. In the 17th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 25th minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sancar Aktemur skillfully saved the ball. In the 27th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sancar Aktemur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play forced GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR's goalkeeper Sancar Aktemur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute of the game Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in which Luis Andino played forward. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sancar Aktemur saved GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR from getting behind. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sancar Aktemur having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sancar Aktemur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 47 played minutes GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR got a freekick which was hit by Kandemir Özdilek. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zeynel Atabek made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ibrahim Kutluay in the 52nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeynel Atabek in the 56th minute of play. GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tacettin Revha in the 57th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Ibrahim Kutluay. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 63rd minute Zeynel Atabek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR's Sancar Aktemur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Ibrahim Kutluay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ibrahim Kutluay didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 96 minutes of play GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR's Ibrahim Kutluay was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 96th minute, Ibrahim Kutluay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
