Denis Bourceanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After a rather tough play, C.A.Tapiales - Münster's Niko Leibrandt got a free kick in the 41st minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Niko Leibrandt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Bourceanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
