The audience thought a goal was coming when Ali Reza Abdi got free with Dante Lacasa in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Soheil Mahdavikia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Nils Elmhuus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Remigiusz Gabis sent off a good shot on target. Nils Elmhuus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 18th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Red Army's Soheil Mahdavikia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 25th minute of play forced Red Army's goalkeeper Nils Elmhuus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luca Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Red Army's Soheil Mahdavikia got a free kick in the 29th minute. A collision led to Red Army getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Arya Javaheri hit a great ball. In the 36th minute Remigiusz Gabis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Soheil Mahdavikia 39 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Nils Elmhuus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. In the 48th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Red Army's Nils Elmhuus managed to reach the ball for a save.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Joel Gaona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils Elmhuus was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. When Hossein Fatehi fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Red Army's protests and gave Hossein Fatehi a yellow card for diving instead. Hossein Fatehi hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 81st match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Cazalla to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Soheil Mahdavikia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
