Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Bjurström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. A hard shot by Vladyslav Galuschak from long distance, 15 minutes into the match, got Julio Vera's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lars Bjurström got free with Julio Vera in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Kolos's Geovani Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Lars Bjurström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 28 minutes into the match, FC Kolos's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Geovani Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 minutes FC Kolos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Kolos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladyslav Galuschak didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute Lars Bjurström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geovani Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute of the match. After 44 played minutes FC Kolos got a freekick which was hit by Boleslaw Niziolek. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Geovani Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

FC Kolos's Andriy Perekolyanovych was substituted for Arkhyp Stepanenko. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lars Bjurström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Geovani Baiano made a huge save. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, one of FC Kolos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Kolos. The referee gave Ecuador a penalty, 68 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Daniel Zorita, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Kolos's Geovani Baiano. 1-2. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geovani Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 86th minute of play forced FC Kolos's goalkeeper Geovani Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artur Kucheruk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Geovani Baiano made a huge save. Primitivo Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Primitivo Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 98th minute Lars Bjurström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Kolos throughout the match.
