The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Yan Wei Gang hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 25 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Dawid Bienienda came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 28th minute of play forced Expedition Lubin's goalkeeper Astor Guipuzkoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute of the match USA got a corner. Expedition Lubin's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. USA's Jenson Smith was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Astor Guipuzkoa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Yan Wei Gang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Marco Day made a huge save. In the 36th minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led USA's Cassius Byrne to fire away a dangerous shot which Astor Guipuzkoa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Patrice Pacio came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Expedition Lubin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrice Pacio couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dawid Bienienda in the 44th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Dawid Bienienda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Dawid Bienienda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Cassius Byrne made the kick off in the second half. Andrzej Dziatkowicz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Astor Guipuzkoa made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Cassius Byrne sent off a good shot on target. Astor Guipuzkoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 53rd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, Expedition Lubin's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Astor Guipuzkoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Guipuzkoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes in the game, Monty Rogers dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Astor Guipuzkoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 74thth minute of the game Teofil Zagrobelny who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USA's Marco Day was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Yan Wei Gang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Yan Wei Gang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. Sam Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Astor Guipuzkoa made a huge save. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Marco Baker hit a great ball. After 82 played minutes Expedition Lubin got a freekick which was hit by J.P. T. Hansen. Astor Guipuzkoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Campbell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. USA's Sam Campbell was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 89th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.
