The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 46th minute, when Florestal Futebol Clube's Sherif Cannavaro after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Thiago Pliego in Chile's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcinho Mineiro to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Orlando Casaus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Orlando Casaus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Renan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Paulo de Lara in the 87th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Florestal Futebol Clube's Sherif Cannavaro got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute, Mariano Lacasa sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Florestal Futebol Clube's Bruno Renan didn't even have to move. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Camargo in the 92nd minute of play. After 95 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Casaus. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
