One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fomac FK:s goal. In the 15th minute Armando Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Andrievs Žuromskis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flóki Ólafsson in the 19th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andrievs Žuromskis in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute Fomac FK were awarded a corner. Tobias Stenström went to the cornerflag to take it. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. Erland Söderberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Fomac FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flóki Ólafsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flóki Ólafsson succeeded in the game's 42nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erland Söderberg. Erland Söderberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Fomac FK's Erland Söderberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Erland Söderberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armando Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Paraibano in the 66th minute of the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Stenström came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Erland Söderberg in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 77 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Erland Söderberg, 2-2. Fomac FK's Erland Söderberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Fomac FK from getting a goal against them. Fomac FK's Andrievs Žuromskis got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Andrievs Žuromskis off the ground. In the 89th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fomac FK.
