Jose Carita charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jose Carita the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mean Machine made a substitution. Rune Anselius replaced Jan Ekenberg. In the 20th minute, Jose Carita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Panama booed when Mean Machine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmund Holmgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute Abraham Alguacil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Kleen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Torsten Berglund. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 27th minute of play forced Mean Machine's goalkeeper Casper Kleen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Berganza. When Lars Frykberg fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mean Machine's protests and gave Lars Frykberg a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Mean Machine's Lars Frykberg got a free kick in the 35th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rune Anselius made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Sarmiento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casper Kleen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Mean Machine's Casper Kleen got control of the ball when Abraham Alguacil tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mean Machine made a substitution. Robin Hultstrand replaced Stig-Arne Wallin. When Abraham Alguacil came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abraham Alguacil couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Robin Hultstrand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casper Kleen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 79th minute of play. Dylan Sarmiento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Casper Kleen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mean Machine's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. With an all-out effort, Panama's Casper Kleen threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Berganza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Isidoro Sarmiento got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-4. 94 minutes into the match. Panama's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
