The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Björkö BK's Mariusz Zdeb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 13th minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Timmy Friberger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Rutger Jelm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mariusz Zdeb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Elias Strömqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timmy Friberger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Timmy Friberger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the game, Elias Strömqvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Elias Strömqvist sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Elias Strömqvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Strömqvist in the 56th minute of play. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mariusz Zdeb read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Strömqvist in the 92nd minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Strömqvist came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 93rd minute.
