Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Chico de Sousa started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Peru booed when Jovens Democratas MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mümtazer Kutlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's Luz Tejedor got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 8th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dalmo Saldanha. Jovens Democratas MZC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 21 minutes into the game, David Puyol threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 21st minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Dalmo Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chico de Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 42 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonardo Guerra. Dalmo Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.
