Edward Mcdonald might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dražen Ladić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Mcdonald ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Conor Gallagher tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Dražen Ladić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute Edward Mcdonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dražen Ladić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Conor Gallagher dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marco Day, 1-0. After 48 minutes of play, USA's Edward Mcdonald made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dražen Ladić was left in no man's land by his defense there! After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Edward Mcdonald managed to get in a good position for a shot. USA's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Mcdonald was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dražen Ladić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Zheng Jing Feng was substituted for Marcelo Cordero. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sam Campbell in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dražen Ladić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Monty Rogers was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. Diego Bradley made a great header on USA's corner, it was just that Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Dražen Ladić managed to reach the ball for a save. Fac. de Ed.
