The violeta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florian Tieri should have stopped the shot. 25 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Florian Tieri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Florian Tieri. Florian Tieri dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 34th minute Aurelio Pennetta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. violeta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aurelio Pennetta in the 35th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matej Nagy. Florian Tieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Pennetta, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Florian Tieri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matej Nagy in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to violeta getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Alfredo De Laurentiis hit a great ball. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Florian Tieri made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Pennetta in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, violeta's goalkeeper Florian Tieri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita.
