But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Pedro Torrens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Pedro Torrens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hector-Luis Conllas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Lautaro Mancebo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC United's Pedro Torrens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the AFC United defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Torrens. The AFC United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Torrens should have stopped the shot. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Pedro Torrens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AFC United's Pedro Torrens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, AFC United's Gilen Tejada got a free kick in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, AFC United's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Pedro Torrens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona scored 4-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Torrens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 78 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of AFC United's Pedro Torrens. Pedro Torrens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 81 minutes into the match, AFC United's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Pedro Torrens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Torrens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of AFC United's goalie and right to Alberto Tafalla. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. AFC United's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Teofilo Pardelas hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Pedro Torrens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mexico walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
