A collision led to Veth Crystals getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Erik Persson hit a great ball. In the 15th minute Veth Crystals were awarded a corner. Song Xing went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Song Xing almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Veth Crystals fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Veth Crystals's Gwidon Patora looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play forced Veth Crystals's goalkeeper Marcos Lama to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Lama showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After 43 minutes, Daniel Zorita made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Veth Crystals's Marcos Lama tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Veth Crystals was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gwidon Patora didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

61 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Lama. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. In the 64th minute, Teofil Walczyk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gwidon Patora in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Veth Crystals's Sebastian Wierzchowski was substituted for He Lin Di. Veth Crystals's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Song Xing in the 71st minute. The corner led Veth Crystals's Song Xing to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gwidon Patora in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 minutes, Gwidon Patora made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
