A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 66 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Sálvio Ribeiro came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to ADCR Loreto United FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Arthur Maia hit a great ball. After having played for 68 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 70 minutes into the match, ADCR Loreto United FC's goalkeeper Vladimiro Matai had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Vladimiro Matai made a huge save. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ADCR Loreto United FC the free kick.
