Zygmunt Mleczewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ziemowit Lemiesz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Agustín Saelices lost his temper 65 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryszard Ligas in the 87th minute of play. Stasio Wykowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
