The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgardo Quintun in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Zorita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 6th minute, Edgardo Quintun ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 11 played minutes ERZİNCAN SPOR got a freekick which was hit by Edgardo Quintun. In the 15th minute, ERZİNCAN SPOR's Edgardo Quintun ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as ERZİNCAN SPOR's Edgardo Quintun slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricardo Zorita. That made the score 3-0 after 21 minutes of play. When Mateo Leguizamo fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Mateo Leguizamo a yellow card for diving instead. Mateo Leguizamo hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute, Edgardo Quintun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Moises Fernandino made the kick off in the second half. Refik Taşdan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. Hüseyin Bala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Luque in the 56th minute of play. Utkan Hanedan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Zorita having to make a save. Lorenzo Yepes's late challenge caught a ERZİNCAN SPOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lorenzo Yepes helped the player get up and apologised. After 58 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Yepes. Mehmet Halis Vefi might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The supporters of El Salvador booed when ERZİNCAN SPOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Utkan Hanedan didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. ERZİNCAN SPOR had played much better football throughout.
