Flavio Balasi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 40th minute of the match. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Lander, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Antarctica IF's Erubiel Claus suffered a sore thigh after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 47th minute, one of USA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for USA. Gogo Izotz ran back to his position shaking his head. Alfredo Derwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Balasi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Maximino Lander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Day was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. If Edward Mcdonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. Despite being the better team, USA failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
