The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Vicente Squella got free with Julio Vera in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when General Velásquez's Jorge Vicente Squella shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. 35 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henry Tucknott. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Cristian Sancho scored 1-4 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henry Tucknott, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Vicente Squella in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Henry Tucknott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jorge Vicente Squella came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the General Velásquez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Vicente Squella couldn't finish the play. Henry Tucknott stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Renato Goycolea took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Henry Tucknott to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Henry Tucknott made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 75th minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Henry Tucknott came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 80th minute. Anselmo Johans's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anselmo Johans helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to General Velásquez getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Anselmo Johans hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Henry Tucknott firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience was convinced that Jorge Vicente Squella's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than General Velásquez.
