Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mario Salerno got free with Julio Vera in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Swatar United FC's Neil Micallef couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. In the 24th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Pârcălab went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Owen Grech Cumbo sent off a good shot on target. Mario Salerno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Patryk Siekierski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patryk Siekierski having to interfere. Mario Salerno took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patryk Siekierski. Patryk Siekierski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. A well-hit corner resulted in Juan Sebastián Puig heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Patryk Siekierski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Mario Salerno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Pârcălab in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Chiratorn Wongsanam kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Swatar United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Patryk Siekierski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mario Salerno in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Brian Blanco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Swatar United FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
