The audience was convinced that Placido Patxi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. 14 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Espinillo's Suárez Yasin. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Placido Patxi in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Placido Patxi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Ezequiel Onbera put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. After the first half Espinillo were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Arnulfo Sotil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 62ndth minute of the game Placido Patxi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Suárez Yasin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Suárez Yasin having to interfere. Suárez Yasin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 79th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Placido Patxi went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. In the 90th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Ezequiel Onbera shot from long distance after 91 played minutes, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant with certain difficulty stopped from going in under the crossbar. The Venezuela fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Espinillo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
