An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 5th minute of play forced Racing Rocafort C.F.'s goalkeeper Cancelo Gol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cancelo Gol read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Racing Rocafort C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Cancelo Gol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cancelo Gol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Racing Rocafort C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Cancelo Gol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Cancelo Gol didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 31 minutes into the match, Racing Rocafort C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Cancelo Gol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the last second Julio Vera throw himself and got hold of the ball when CJ Ibrahimović in the 37thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. CJ Ibrahimović was the one to do the kick off. 59 minutes into the game, Luis Andino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Cancelo Gol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cancelo Gol made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Oro Cameno came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from CJ Ibrahimović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Cancelo Gol made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 78th minute. With a little luck, Racing Rocafort C.F.'s Cancelo Gol got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Racing Rocafort C.F.'s goalkeeper Cancelo Gol had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Cancelo Gol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 91st minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from CJ Ibrahimović, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Racing Rocafort C.F. throughout the match.
