Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 40th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Falck was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 44th minute Du Lin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Falck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Julian Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Du Lin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tommy Falck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 52nd minute of play. Tommy Falck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kent Åkerström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute, Calle Lekberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo.
