The throw-in from Felix Blas in the 43rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Gustaw Nowak in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
