With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dong saved Deportivo Galicia from getting behind. In the 11th match minute, Deportivo Galicia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Cordearo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Deportivo Galicia booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fedele Melani in the 14th minute. After 14 minutes, Jonathan Venegas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Deportivo Galicia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Venezuela's goalie and right to Merih Demiral. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Venezuela's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 21 minutes into the game, Kryspin Kalinowski threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Patricio Costa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Fedele Melani sent off a good shot on target. Svanbjörn von den Berg took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Fedele Melani could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Dong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After 47 minutes, Jose Correa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Deportivo Galicia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Deportivo Galicia made a substitution. Leonel Mesquita replaced Svanbjörn von den Berg. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. In the 50th minute, Deportivo Galicia's Leonel Mesquita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Leonel Mesquita made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Åke Granberg in the 65th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonel Mesquita in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. At last the ball reached Merih Demiral at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Venezuela. 4-0. In the 85th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Leonel Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Åke Granberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Galicia's Leonel Mesquita got a free kick in the 100th minute.
