Jonathan Ferrant had in the 34thth minute some difficulties stopping Joseph Österlund's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Segmon IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Finnman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute of the game Joseph Österlund made a throw-in which Viktor Biörnberg played forward. Segmon IF's Alfons Glad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Correa in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Leif Löfdahl made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Hannes Haraldsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Leif Löfdahl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Leif Löfdahl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joseph Österlund charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joseph Österlund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
