Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costel Novăceanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hipólito Zambujal in the 54th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, CFR Sibiu's Hipólito Zambujal got a free kick in the 57th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costel Novăceanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With a little luck, CFR Sibiu's Cristo Nofre got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luca Dănilă's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Stanimir Rashkov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Dănilă in the 67th minute of play. CFR Sibiu's Cristo Nofre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save CFR Sibiu from getting a goal against them. 82 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Dănilă came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Costel Novăceanu went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score.
