Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Freddy Basajaun took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benny Stolpe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 11 minutes, Luis Andino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the C.A. BOCA JUNIORS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benny Stolpe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benny Stolpe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benny Stolpe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Gai in the 46th minute.

C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Fausto Orlondon was substituted for Arnaldo Elivareo. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A very good chance. The supporters of Ecuador booed when C.A. BOCA JUNIORS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Montel didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Benny Stolpe got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benny Stolpe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benny Stolpe quite easily take care of the ball. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benny Stolpe having to make a save. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benny Stolpe. Benny Stolpe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Benny Stolpe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 96th minute. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than C.A. BOCA JUNIORS.
