Marin Romoşan made in the 2nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Fernando Montes immediately put the ball in play. A sloppy throw-in by Marin Romoşan in the 7th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 7th minute, Eliseo Mina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iwan Dziuma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 9th minute of play. Iwan Dziuma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krzysztof Wiater in the 16th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Krzysztof Wiater shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Heide FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Fernando Montes hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Heide FC defense, Luz Tejedor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iwan Dziuma. The Heide FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iwan Dziuma should have stopped the shot. 39 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lázaro Prestes. In the 40th minute of the match Heide FC got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Witold Hodyl ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Heide FC's Moises Berenguer to fire away a dangerous shot which Rolando Noboa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 47th minute, Julian Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Iwan Dziuma. Heide FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After the first half Peru were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Krzysztof Wiater was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Marin Romoşan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Krzysztof Wiater in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joaquin Prats hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the match, Heide FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Iwan Dziuma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Krzysztof Wiater, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. If Lázaro Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heide FC's Juvenal Azevedo was substituted for Moises Berenguer. The supporters of Peru booed when Heide FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iwan Dziuma had in the 72ndth minute some difficulties stopping Luz Tejedor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball 72 minutes into the game, Luz Tejedor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Iwan Dziuma was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lázaro Prestes struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heide FC. Milagros Fraga hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Lázaro Prestes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Heide FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Iwan Dziuma made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 92nd minute. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eliseo Mina in the 96th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Milagros Fraga heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Peru's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
