Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Severo Laurgain notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Social y Dep. Patagonia's Santos Felipillo got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Severo Laurgain kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 13thth minute of the game Severo Laurgain who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Social y Dep. Patagonia's Santos Felipillo got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute of the match, Severo Laurgain tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Santos Felipillo came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Social y Dep. Patagonia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Santos Felipillo couldn't finish the play. Social y Dep. Patagonia's Tobias Faro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Social y Dep. Patagonia's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Tobias Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. Social y Dep. Patagonia made a substitution. Arnaldo Bastia replaced Santos Felipillo. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 28th minute. Severo Laurgain blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Laurgain in the 30th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severo Laurgain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 32nd minute of the match, Severo Laurgain tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 35 minutes, Modesto Lehen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Social y Dep. Patagonia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Modesto Lehen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Severo Laurgain in the 36th minute. In the 39th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Laurgain in the 42nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44th play minutes Severo Laurgain shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severo Laurgain in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severo Laurgain in the 58th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Laurgain in the 59th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Severo Laurgain cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 65 minutes into the match, Severo Laurgain had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severo Laurgain was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Social y Dep. Patagonia's Lázaro Gau was substituted for Anastasio Jaen. Social y Dep. Patagonia made a substitution. Natalio Mergildo replaced Severo Laurgain. Social y Dep. Patagonia's attentive Kazimierz Oliszewski managed to snatch the ball when Efrain Moruga made a throw-in in the 69th minute of the game. In the 71st minute, Natalio Mergildo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga got a free kick in the 75th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Natalio Mergildo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Social y Dep. Patagonia's supporters rose to their feet, but Natalio Mergildo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Arnaldo Bastia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After 82nd play minutes Natalio Mergildo shot 8-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience was convinced that Natalio Mergildo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natalio Mergildo, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Natalio Mergildo took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. 94 minutes into the match, Modesto Lehen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Modesto Lehen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 10-0.
