The referee ignored Knipan IF's protests and gave Hugo Engström a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th match minute, Knipan IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Engström to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amadeu Pombal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Amadeu Pombal. Knipan IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Magnus Gallin in the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The Knipan IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

Knipan IF's Edmund Moberg was substituted for Edmund Söderquist. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgar Nordin was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Edgar Nordin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Knipan IF booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd match minute, Knipan IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmund Moberg to maneuver through the defense. Amadeu Pombal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 83rd minute. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Edgar Nordin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. After 89 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Edgar Nordin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Edgar Nordin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Knipan IF's Amadeu Pombal got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
