Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Börje Albohm, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Guidetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Albohm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Börje Albohm came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Baxters Boys's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Börje Albohm came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Guidetti in the 30th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cornelio Olayo in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Baxters Boys's goalie prevented a goal. In the 38th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Baxters Boys players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 61st minute Aloísio Lendaa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, John Guidetti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Börje Albohm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute. In the 76th minute Uzay Gencalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Börje Albohm could save by the left post. In the 78th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Novella, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Börje Albohm. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Uzay Gencalp in the 84th managed to get into a good position. After 91 minutes of play, Baxters Boys's Uzay Gencalp made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
