Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Coquitlam F.C.'s Sandy Crowe started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Trần Teo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Bert Labonté tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sandy Crowe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lưu Thuyet came out and tried to block the shot, but Sandy Crowe slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. Lưu Thuyet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Block in the 8th minute of play. After 13 minutes, Sandy Crowe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coquitlam F.C. and the Sài Gòn players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, Sandy Crowe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bert Labonté made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Teo in the 15th minute of play. If Nguyễn Duc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute Nguyễn Chi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bert Labonté saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 minutes, Nguyễn Chi made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Coquitlam F.C.'s Bert Labonté tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Bert Labonté stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Chi's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Bert Labonté came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Sài Gòn's Nguyễn Chi. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Chi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Trần Teo took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bert Labonté. Bert Labonté dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Chi made a kick off. Nguyễn Chis short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Bert Labonté to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Coquitlam F.C.'s Bert Labonté played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Chi in the 55th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trần Teo got free with Bert Labonté in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trần Teo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 63rd playminute. Bert Labonté showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Nga in the 68th minute of the match. The Sài Gòn fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Sài Gòn's Trần Teo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 85th play minutes Nazaire Sprague shot 2-6, a short shot which went by Lưu Thuyet and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 89th minute, Leo Block left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Coquitlam F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-6. After 93 minutes, Nguyễn Nga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sài Gòn and the Coquitlam F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sài Gòn's Nguyễn Nga got a free kick in the 93rd minute.
