Koldobika Villagomez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Pereira in the 19th minute of play. After some careless play in the Brejo dos Santos defense, Eriberto Hortiz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Fernando Salles. The Brejo dos Santos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Fernando Salles should have stopped the shot. Carlos Fernando Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Hortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brejo dos Santos's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Salles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
