Lưu Thuyet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronn Abisheganaden, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Sài Gòn were furious when Huỳnh Dung was red carded, 11 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 11 played minutes Sài Gòn got a freekick which was hit by Huỳnh Dung. In the 13th match minute, Wimbledon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steven Rajah to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Lan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Sài Gòn's Lưu Thuyet got control of the ball when Jonathan Sim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nguyễn Chi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jonathan Amin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Wimbledon FC's Lưu Thuyet threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ronn Abisheganaden, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lưu Thuyet was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Shah Keng capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Shah Keng really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 35th minute, Trần Teo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sài Gòn fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Lưu Thuyet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shah Keng in the 38th minute of play. Nguyễn Chi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Amin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After 39 played minutes Wimbledon FC got a freekick which was hit by Shah Keng. Lưu Thuyet made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Shah Keng sent off a good shot on target. Wimbledon FC's Jonathan Amin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Teo in the 44th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ronn Abisheganaden to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Amin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Chi in the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute Shah Keng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lưu Thuyet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Chi scored 1-3 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Amin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Steven Rajah kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Lưu Thuyet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronn Abisheganaden in the 65th minute of the match. Nguyễn Chi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Amin having to make a save. Lưu Thuyet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Sim in the 70th minute of play. Lưu Thuyet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronn Abisheganaden, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Trần Teo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sài Gòn's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Teo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Amin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lưu Thuyet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Sim in the 91st minute of play. A collision led to Wimbledon FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Steven Rajah hit a great ball. Sài Gòn's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
