When Marfim's Iuri dos Santos in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Oppenhuizen's goalie prevented a goal. In the 8th match minute, Marfim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Macedo to maneuver through the defense. Luciano de Moraes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilbert Vrieling went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Wilfried Landzaat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iuri dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 14th match minute, Oppenhuizen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Wielens to maneuver through the defense. Wilfried Landzaat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor de Salles in the 15th minute of play. Luciano de Moraes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ed Haydon in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute João Vítor de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilfried Landzaat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Iuri dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Vítor de Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oppenhuizen's Ed Haydon got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Vítor de Salles scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilfried Landzaat, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Oppenhuizen's Wilfried Landzaat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Vítor de Salles in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Iuri dos Santos notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Oppenhuizen's Wilfried Landzaat. Wilfried Landzaat was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Oppenhuizen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Marfim were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iuri dos Santos to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Wielens in the 51st minute of play forced Marfim's goalkeeper Luciano de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 52nd minute, João Vítor de Salles fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 57th match minute, Marfim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Macedo to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Marfim defense, Gilbert Vrieling kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luciano de Moraes. The Marfim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luciano de Moraes should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Oppenhuizen getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Steve van der Meijde hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Oppenhuizen's goalkeeper Wilfried Landzaat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Vítor de Salles. João Vítor de Salles struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Wilfried Landzaat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marfim. In the 76th minute, Gilbert Vrieling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 80 played minutes Marfim got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Rodrigues. Gilbert Vrieling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Iuri dos Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
