Sandy Crowe took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilfried Landzaat. Wilfried Landzaat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 14th minute Ed Haydon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bert Labonté saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Leo Block had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee showed Sterling Rangel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Coquitlam F.C. getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Sterling Rangel hit a great ball. A nice corner shot did that Han Veldhuis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bert Labonté quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rico Schwartz hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Han Veldhuis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oppenhuizen's supporters rose to their feet, but Han Veldhuis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bert Labonté breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eric Wielens during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th minute, Eric Wielens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bert Labonté showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilbert Vrieling in the 82nd minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Coquitlam F.C.'s goalkeeper Bert Labonté had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ed Haydon. Bert Labonté showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilbert Vrieling, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute.
