Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Juan Sebastián Puig fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Juan Sebastián Puig a yellow card for diving instead. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match.
