The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Honduras's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edmundo Espiga in the 4th minute. The corner led Honduras's Edmundo Espiga to fire away a dangerous shot which Mauro Vermudo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Moises Tafalla hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Mauro Vermudo came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Edmundo Espiga. But to his dismay, Edmundo Espiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Mauro Vermudo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmundo Espiga went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Mauro Vermudo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Espinar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mauro Vermudo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes into the match, Social y Dep. Patagonia's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Villa came free, but Mauro Vermudo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Luca Espinar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Moises Tafalla took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mauro Vermudo. Social y Dep. Patagonia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Sebastian Villa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mauro Vermudo, 0-6. 70 minutes into the match, Edmundo Espiga notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Social y Dep. Patagonia's Mauro Vermudo. Mauro Vermudo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mauro Vermudo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 74th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauro Vermudo saved Social y Dep. Patagonia from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luca Espinar during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Luca Espinar got a free kick in the 87th minute. Rene Maiorga was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 91 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Social y Dep. Patagonia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Honduras:s goal. Edmundo Espiga placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Mauro Vermudo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmundo Espiga went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-9 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded Honduras left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Social y Dep. Patagonia.
