Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bękarty Wojny's Bogumil Madajczyk did a great save. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zdzislaw Kanczuszewski's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Stefan Siekierka's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stefan Siekierka helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, Bękarty Wojny was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Siekierka to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute really tested Bogumil Madajczyk's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogumil Madajczyk having to interfere. Bękarty Wojny's Bogumil Madajczyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 36th minute of play. After 41 played minutes Bękarty Wojny got a freekick which was hit by Ludomil Balkiewicz. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zdzislaw Kanczuszewski was the one to do the kick off. Bogumil Madajczyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Bogumil Madajczyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute, Luis Andino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kazimierz Ligas in the 64th minute of play. Cristian Sancho scored 2-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bogumil Madajczyk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kazimierz Ligas kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 79 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bogumil Madajczyk was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 94th minute, Ecuador's Antonio Arias seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Antonio Arias the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ecuador protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Antonio Arias had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bękarty Wojny:s goal. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
