Guy Durant came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guy Durant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 9th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Guy Durant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Daniel Zorita sped through Lyon 69ers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Guy Durant. After having played for 21 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Beaune came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Sebastian Silvian sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Beaune in the 32nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anatol Hönes, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anatol Hönes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tom Beaune blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guy Durant having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Beaune, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 68th minute Tom Beaune shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anatol Hönes in the 74th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guy Durant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 79 minutes into the game, Anatol Hönes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lyon 69ers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After 79 played minutes Lyon 69ers got a freekick which was hit by Anatol Hönes. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom Beaune in the 81st minute of play. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anatol Hönes, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Guy Durant made a huge save. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lyon 69ers.
