But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Milosz Kuszczak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Joshua Secada scored 0-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Milosz Kuszczak, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 43 minutes in the game, Sten Blixt fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sten Blixt in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Sten Blixt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Blue Lions FC's Milosz Kuszczak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Blue Lions FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Lyčka to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Sten Blixt came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guillermo Mariano charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Mariano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Blue Lions FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Salvador Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. Blue Lions FC's Adrian Lyčka quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Blue Lions FC's Milosz Kuszczak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 92nd minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
