The supporters of Lipovljani booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cvjetko Štokić in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute Sima Marinković shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sima Marinković, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. When Lipovljani's Cvjetko Štokić in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sima Marinković, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Cvjetko Štokić struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lipovljani. Thanks to some nice moves Nikifor Kulaksúzov could shoot a difficult shot in the 38th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. In the 39th minute, Kevin De Bruyne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 45 played minutes Lipovljani got a freekick which was hit by Kevin De Bruyne. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Lipovljani made a substitution. Egon Škare replaced Valter Vidulić. Lipovljani's Arsen Vukša was substituted for Nikifor Kulaksúzov. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cvjetko Štokić was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Renato Vince hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. After 84 played minutes Lipovljani got a freekick which was hit by Viggo Bruse. Cvjetko Štokić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
